Preschool Learn to Skate
This program offers learn to skate instruction for
your Preschooler. We'll focus on fun, participation, achievement, some songs,
and of course the basics of ice-skating.
Canadian Standards Association Hockey helmet is a must
for child! Parents are welcome to join children on the ice but it is not
required.
Time: 11:30 to 12:00 pm
Jan 28th - Mar 3rd, 2012

Children Learn to Skate
Come learn the basics of skating in a fun filled class
where the emphasis will be on the fundamental movements such as gliding,
stopping, and backward skating.
Time: 12:15 to 1:00 pm

CSA approved skating helmets are
mandatory.
Lessons take place
outside and will be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.
Please note that these are 6 week courses with two make-up sessions scheduled
March 10 & and March 17 in case of inclement weather (below -20 degrees
Celsius).
In the event of no cancellations, the program will run with 2 additional
sessions

The Community League is pleased to have Second Chance CPR & First Aid offer the Canadian Red Cross Babysitting Course.
DATE: May 9th, 2009
TIME: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
LOCATION: Stratchcona Community Center (Upstairs Lounge)
COST: $45.00 per child (includes GST)
PARTICIPANTS: Grade 6 Students or older
Does your child babysit other children or their own brothers and sisters? Are they sometimes left alone to care for themselves?
A Babysitting course is a great way for young people to develop skills to better care for themselves and others. The course is available for students in grade 6 or older. Therefore, if you have sons or daughters that have a genuine interest in the course, they may register by adding their names to the registration form and returning it to the school with the corresponding payment, by May 2nd.
The course consists of the following topics:
Rights and Responsibilities First Aid
Skills for Caring Injury Prevention
Skills for Getting Along Personal Safety and Security
Safety Handling Emergencies
The following materials are included in the cost of the course:
· Babysitter Manual (107 pages)
· Certification Card
· Babysitter Information Sheet.
Registration forms will be available at the Community League.
